Riaz Ali

Riaz is the Chief Marketing Officer at Wider Circle, an investor backed company that is building peer-to-peer communities nationwide. Riaz joined Wider Circle in 2022, when the company he co-founded, Ask Claire, was acquired by Wider Circle. Ask Claire (f/k/a Saeidan) was founded with the mission to transform the Medicare navigation experience. Immediately following the acquisition, Riaz served as the President of Ask Claire before assuming his current role at Wider Circle.

Prior to founding Ask Claire, Riaz was the Chief Marketing Officer at SCAN Health Plan, one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plans. During his time at SCAN, the company grew more than 33% in membership and consistently rated 4 Stars or higher by CMS.

Riaz’s early career includes more than a decade in regulatory and policy work including leadership positions at Avalere Health, a D.C. healthcare strategy firm where he worked with the nation’s largest pharma and biotech firms as well some of the leading health plans and health systems.

Riaz has a Masters’ in Public Policy from Georgetown University and received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University. He is an advisor to several early stage companies and sits on the Board of the Wilmington Community Clinic, a Federally Qualified Health Center in San Pedro, CA. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and three children, and still roots for his hometown team: the New Orleans Saints.

Nate Aumock

As Chief Population Health Officer, Nate is responsible for defining the clinical care model Curana Health deploys to support front-line clinicians in providing great care and improving patient outcomes. Nate holds a PhD and MSCEP in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BS in chemistry and chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin. Nate lives in Los Angeles with his wife and three children.

Brian Doherty

Brian Doherty has served as president and CEO of the Massachusetts Assisted Living Association (Mass-ALA), since 2018. His successful leadership was recognized by Argentum, which named him a 2022 Champion of Seniors Awardee. As assisted living is a relatively new and fast-growing sector, and an innovative model of a social wellness environment, Doherty focuses on educating policy makers and the public on its beneficial role in healthy aging. This includes legislative and regulatory advocacy, and production and promotion of consumer resources including the Assisted Living Resource Guide, which is published annually and provided free to members of the public.

Doherty has a proven record in association management, having successfully led associations in different sectors. He served as Executive Director at the Massachusetts Psychological Association and, prior to that, as CEO of the Northeast Association of REALTORS®. In a volunteer capacity, he currently serves as Immediate Past Chair of the New England Society of Association Executives, where he has served on the Board since 2018.

In 2006, they joined Nuance Communications as a Sales Executive, where they sold Speech Recognition software/systems to Radiology, Cardiology, Pathology and Emergency Departments. Since 2007, Jim has been committed to improving care delivery operations, access, and affordable care models to frail and underserved patients and communities. His organizations, roles, and care teams championed mobile programs in more than 30 states. In his current and past accountable areas, Jim’s responsibilities have included P&L oversight, network strategy and development, product design, analytics & reporting, and growth.

Jim is a routine contributor to various industry forums, such as National Investment Center (NIC), Lincoln Healthcare Leadership, Aging Media Network, and Milken Institute on Aging.

Dianne Munevar

Vice President, Health Care Strategy, NORC

Dianne is the vice president of Health Care Strategy at NORC. In her role, she works to leverage the depth and breadth of NORC’s diverse social sciences expertise and research assets to help health care clients meet their business objectives. Dianne also leads NORC Labs—NORC’s innovation hub which supports NORC staff as they incubate ideas that align with the organization’s mission to produce quality research and insights, designed to make NORC smarter, better, and faster at responding to emerging client needs.

As vice president, Dianne drives business development strategy and oversees client engagements. With over 17 years of experience working with a diverse range of health care entities, including private and government payers, providers, trade associations, life science companies, foundations, and nonprofits, she has tackled some of the most challenging policy and strategy issues. Dianne combines her subject matter expertise and analytical skills with storytelling and evidence translation to support sound public policy and business strategy. She specializes in maternal health, social determinants of health, health disparities, post-acute care, seniors housing, and end-of-life care.

Recent projects of interest include an analysis to estimate the value of hospice care in Medicare, examining disparities in maternal health in Medicaid, and survey research to gain a national perspective of consumers’ and physicians’ trust in the U.S. health care system, with a special focus on the impact that COVID-19 and discrimination has on the relationships between patients and their providers.

Dianne was the Director of Innovation at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, where she developed programs to improve health outcomes for members with various conditions, such as diabetes and behavioral health issues. In that role, Dianne led the Care Management Accelerator, collaborating with Blues Plans to scale new programs and technologies. Before BCBSA, she worked as Director of Data Analytics at Avalere Health supporting health care organizations across the spectrum, and as a health services researcher at RTI, focusing on post-acute and long-term care issues.

Sevy Petras
