Argentum welcomes and embraces the diversity among our staff, members, and partners. We understand that different perspectives and backgrounds bring new ideas and innovative approaches to business, that may otherwise go undiscovered, which is why we are committed to cultivating and preserving a culture of inclusiveness, equity, and diversity where individuals are accepted, valued, and encouraged to share their voices, their cultures, and themselves.
We understand that by listening to and including the perspectives, experiences, and diversity in others we can foster a culture of belonging, collaboration, and mutual respect. We believe that multiple types of talent, skills, and mindsets are needed to advance our work – and that this can be found all around us. We are committed to providing equal opportunities to empower and engage our staff, members, and partners in actions that effectively contribute to accomplishing the goals and mission of our association.
It starts with listening – to experts, to workers at every level, and to each other. We will update these efforts here as well as through our communication channels as findings, plans, and resources take shape. Please contact Olivia Wilson, Senior Director, DEIB at [email protected] with any questions or interest you may have at this time.
Thank you and we look forward to building a stronger senior living industry through a more diverse, equal, and inclusive workforce.
The latest executive summary provides a snapshot on the current state of DEIB within the industry. Administered by Ferguson Partners, the second annual survey uncovers several practices being implemented by senior living organizations and the percentage of organizations executing on specific DEIB initiatives. It also provides demographic breakdowns related to gender, race, orientations, and other diversity measures.
“It is exciting to note that this year's survey showed an increase in the percentage of companies with formal DEIB programs, from 27% to 40% which indicates a growing recognition within the industry of the importance and positive impact of promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging among employees and residents. A formal DEIB program is an important step to foster a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging which also bolsters employee engagement.”
– James Balda, President & CEO, Argentum
“Senior living is about creating communities where everyone feels welcome and valued. The results of this survey provide us with a roadmap for furthering our DEIB initiatives and creating an industry that is truly inclusive for all.”
– Ray Braun, President & CEO, National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC)
“The survey results also give us a market overview of how the senior living industry is addressing DEIB in 2023. The data collected provides valuable insights into current industry trends, best practices, and areas of improvement for those looking to further their DEIB efforts.”
– David Schless, President & CEO,President & CEO, American Senior Housing Association (ASHA)
