WICHITA, Kansas—Legend of Colorado Springs Assisted Living and Memory Care, a Legend Senior Living® residence opening this winter, has announced the hiring of Amy Hoskins as life enrichment coordinator and Reneé Schulz as customer service associate.
Hoskins will play a central role in the life of the community. Life enrichment is a pillar of the Legend mission, and every community benefits from a full-time coordinator who plans the many activities that fill the calendar of a Legend residence. These include cultural and intellectual pursuits, outings to community events, community-building exercises, lectures, hobbies and classes.
“The focus at every Legend residence is vibrant, purposeful living, and we’re determined to make Legend of Colorado Springs a center of innovation in life enrichment,” said Karen Stewart, residence director.
“Amy’s background is such a perfect fit, it’s almost like the job description was written for her. Residents will connect with her energy and love and her talent for conversation.”
Hoskins has a long history of service and is also a wedding and events planner. She discovered her passion for serving older adults as an activity director for a senior living community and has a passion for theater, concerts, and museums.
“We’re excited to have someone with Amy’s qualifications and personality. She embodies the very purpose of the Life Enrichment Coordinator,” said Stewart.
As the typical first contact residents and family members have with the community, Schulz will participate in sales, including community awareness, maintenance of outreach programs and community organization relationships, and tours.
Schulz has served as a CNA in several nursing homes, an assistant to autistic children in the mainstream school system, a home health aide, and leader of a crisis ministry program.
“Reneé’s customer relationship skills, her health care experience, and her passion for the well-being of prospective residents are the perfect combination for the level of compassionate professionalism we require from our Legend experts in senior living,” said Stewart.
