ALFA has opened up nominations for its annual awards program, designed to recognize outstanding individuals and best practices in the field of senior living. Changes to the programs this year include a public voting process for the Hero Awards and new categories for the Best of the Best Awards.
ALFA Hero Awards – Vote for Your Favorite!
The 2014 Hero Awards recognize superior, dedicated professionals who
serve senior living residents. Nominees should champion choice, dignity,
independence and quality of life for residents.
You can get involved in this 2014 award winner selection by voting for
the winners from a select group of finalists. ALFA members along with a
nominee’s family and friends can champion their nominated hero. Additionally, for the first time, nominators may submit videos to help showcase their nominees’ commitment and dedication their residents. More
information will be published on the ALFA website as open voting becomes
available.

New Topics for ALFA Best of the Best Awards
The ALFA Best of the Best Awards recognizes new products, services and
programs advancing excellence in senior living, including independent
living, assisted living, and memory care.
Awards and recognition will focus on programs and initiatives advancing excellence in senior living by addressing topics in Human Resources, Sales and Marketing, Clinical, Health and Wellness, Information Technology, Physical Plant and Property Management, and Resident and Family Engagement. These broader categories allow more flexibility for both Provider and Allied member companies to submit their programs
In the past, the Best of the Best awards were given to the top submissions in each category. This year, the 10 nominees receiving the highest scores from an expert panel will be named Best of the Best Award winners, regardless of category. Other innovative products and initiatives will be highlighted as Programs to Spotlight.
ALFA members may go to alfa.org/bestofthebest to learn more and submit nominations. Senior living providers and companies serving the senior living industry may collaborate on nominations or submit separately.
ALFA Senior Living Community Leadership Award
The 2014 Senior Living Community Leadership Award program highlights outstanding executive leadership in senior living. The program honors one executive director who serves as an industry role model. Community staff members and provider company executives may nominate executive directors at alfa.org/leadershipaward.
