ALEXANDRIA, Va. – September 25, 2015 – ALFA and MatrixCare today announced a three-year corporate partnership to develop cutting-edge education and research programming focused on quality measures and memory care programming in senior living.
“MatrixCare is proud to partner with ALFA and its members to develop and deliver research, care protocols, and tools to improve the quality of life for residents served by memory care programs,” commented John Damgaard, MatrixCare President and CEO. “We also look forward to collaborating on the development of quality measures to help senior living providers demonstrate the consistently high levels of care and service they deliver to seniors. When corporate, industry, and provider organizations work together to the end of delivering superior care and better outcomes to residents, great things happen.”
The partnership will result in the development of programs including:
- Memory Care Executive Symposium beginning in 2016, a new annual educational event bringing together experts in the field to share best practices among providers and their partners. The one-day seminar will focus on issues related to memory care resident experience, technology, operations, business trends, and other key topics in the field.
- Series of Memory Care Executive Reports focusing on best practices, provider requirements and clinical outcomes, among other topics. An executive summary of each report will be published in ALFA’s bimonthly Senior Living Executive magazine.
- Suite of Case Studies and White Papers focusing on issues affecting memory care operators.
More than 40% of residential care residents experience Alzheimer’s disease or some other form of dementia, according to the Centers for Disease Control. “ALFA is honored to work with MatrixCare in the rapidly growing and evolving field of memory care in senior living, and we are keenly aware of the importance of ensuring that these residents – like all residents – live purposeful lives,” said ALFA President & CEO
James Balda. “We are looking forward to providing our members with a new suite of resources to assist them in providing an optimum experience and delivering superior care.”
