Argentum Announces 2024 Hero and Best of the Best Award Winners During the Senior Living Executive Conference

Alexandria, VA – This week, Argentum, the leading national association dedicated to supporting professionally managed, resident-centered senior living communities, recognized extraordinary employees and innovative programs at the 2024 Argentum Senior Living Executive Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Argentum Hero Best of the Best Awards honor employees who exemplify excellence, compassion, and dedication across the senior living industry.

Argentum Hero Award Winners:

· Andi Walsh, Wellspring Village Director at Brightview Westminster Ridge, has been honored for her exceptional contributions to the senior living community. Recognizing the need for in-person support for caregivers of individuals with dementia in Carroll County, MD, Andi developed a curriculum, coordinated with the Alzheimer’s Association, and established a recognized support group that now has over 10 households attending. Andi’s dedication to continuous education, evidenced by her recent certification as a First Degree Reiki Practitioner, and her commitment to creating a positive work environment make her a deserving Hero Award winner.

· George Silva, Resident Engagement Director at Northbridge Companies, is dedicated to improving the lives of residents through innovative programs like Hometown History, which allows new residents to connect with their community by sharing interesting history from their hometowns. George’s genuine desire to learn from his residents and create a sense of acceptance and understanding has had a profound impact on those he works with.

· Marianne Hohrein, Executive Director at Stellar Senior Living, has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to improving the lives of residents and employees at Courtyard at Jamestown Assisted & Senior Living. Marianne’s commitment to fulfilling the dream of a resident named Gail S. Halvorsen and organizing fundraising events that raised $61,000 for Mr. Halvorsen’s Foundation, showcase her unwavering dedication to her community.

· Mary Gomez, from Wharton Sodalis, was honored posthumously for her over 20 years of dedicated service and compassion in the Wharton Community. Mary’s legacy serves as a testament to the transformative power of love and dedication, inspiring all who knew her.

· Rob Sampson, Director of Life Enrichment with LCS, has been recognized for his exceptional dedication and impact on senior living. Rob’s efforts to improve the community and inspire others, especially during the challenging times of COVID, make him a true hero in the senior living industry.

Best of the Best Award Winners:

· Belmont Village Senior Living wins a Best of the Best award for their exceptional Belmont Blooms program, focusing on sustainable fashion and addressing critical environmental challenges caused by fast fashion.

· Brookdale Senior Living is recognized for their program, Brookdale HealthPlus, which provides proactive care delivery model for Assisted Living, focusing on care coordination, management of chronic conditions, and preventative care.

· Capri Communities is honored for their new four-day work week initiative, addressing the growing need for long-term care in the senior living industry while facing a shrinking workforce.

· Silverado wins a Best of the Best award for the NEXUS program, an innovative and evidence-based brain health program that addresses the challenges faced in senior living.

· Vitality Living is recognized for their EyeWatch Live program, which utilizes AI-enabled cameras and real-time alerts to provide timely support and interventions, significantly reducing falls and enhancing resident safety.
