Argentum Elects New Board of Directors, Names LCS CEO Joel Nelson as Board Chairman

(Alexandria, Va.)—Senior living advocate Argentum announced that Joel Nelson, president and CEO of LCS, was elected to serve as the new chair of the Argentum Board of Directors. Most recently, he served as Co-Chair of the Argentum Public Policy committee.

Nelson’s 35-year career with LCS has included serving as chief development officer and chief operating officer before being named CEO in 2018. As president and CEO, he is responsible for leading all business lines in the LCS Family of Companies, which includes an operating portfolio of more than 130 communities.

“I am extremely proud of the work we have achieved at LCS and feel the experiences of the last decades in serving our residents and staff will serve the general membership of Argentum as we as a profession move forward to meet the challenges ahead,” Nelson said.

Nelson will succeed outgoing chair Pat Mulloy, president and CEO, Sharp’s Compliance, Inc. Argentum’s Board of Directors also named two new vice-chairs: Sarabeth Hanson, president and CEO, Harbor Retirement Associates, and Judd Harper, president, The Arbor Company.

Named as officers to the Board were: Mercedes Kerr, president, Belmont Village Senior Living, as secretary; Tana Gall, president, Merrill Gardens, as treasurer, Katie Potter and Chris Hyatt, president, New Perspective as policy chairs, and Mulloy, immediate past chair.

New to the Board are: Angela Brandt, president, ProMedica Senior Care; Doug Dollenberg, Brightview Senior Living; Adam Kaplan, founder and CEO, Solera Senior Living; Bryan McCaleb, CEO, Sagora Senior Living; John Moore, CEO, Atria Senior Living; and Doris-Ellie Sullivan, president, Retirement Unlimited, Inc.

Argentum would like to recognize and thank the following Board members for their dedicated years of services: Timothy J. Buchanan, president and CEO, Legend Senior Living LLC; Randy Richardson, president, Vi; Chris Winkle, and Kai Hsiao, CEO, Eclipse Senior Living.
