(ALEXANDRIA, Va.) – Argentum, the voice for America’s professionally managed senior living communities, is pleased to announce the hiring of Cynthia Bade to the newly created position of vice president of development.

Bade’s assignment will be to create and implement strategies to grow the fundraising capacity of the Argentum Advocacy Fund and Silver PAC to support public policy and advocacy initiatives at both the state and federal level.

“We are very excited to have Cynthia on our team. With her onboard, Argentum is poised to grow an already robust advocacy agenda in Washington, DC, and in the states,” said James Balda, president and chief executive officer, Argentum.

Bade has more than 17 years of non-profit fundraising experience, primarily in the healthcare and human services sectors. Most recently, she served as a director of development for Virginia Commonwealth University’s Massey Cancer Center, where she managed major donor relationships and raised over $6.2 million for cancer research during a three-year tenure.

Prior to that Bade served in several different development roles with the American Heart Association, where she worked with both corporate and individual supporters to raise funds for cardiovascular disease research and prevention.

She holds an MBA in Services Marketing from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and currently resides in Richmond, Va.
