ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Argentum announced today that Sharon Reynolds, executive director of Five Star Senior Living’s The Neighborhood at Somerset in Somerset, Ky., was honored with the 2017 Argentum Senior Living Community Leadership Award. Reynolds was recognized at the annual Argentum Senior Living Executive Conference in Nashville, Tenn. The award honors executive directors for exemplary leadership in senior living community management.

Senior living executive directors are responsible for the day-to-day overall leadership and operation of a community. They contribute largely to defining the culture of their community by cultivating relationships both internally and with their surrounding neighborhoods.

In addition to recognizing Reynolds, Argentum announced the winners of the 2017 Argentum Hero Awards. Each year, the Argentum Hero Awards recognize individuals who are ideal representatives of the hundreds of thousands of people serving in the senior living field. Nominated by company executives and executive directors of senior living communities, these individuals represent the highest levels of excellence, caring, and dedication in senior living. This year, six awardees were recognized for championing quality of life for the residents they serve and for embracing a resident-centered philosophy. Award winning journalist Joan Lunden served as the master of ceremonies for the Hero Awards Gala Dinner.

- Patricia Gatewood, resident care partner, Preston Place, an Enlivant community in Sherman, Texas
- Tonia Gonzales, life engagement manager, Autumn Leaves of Cypresswood, a LaSalle Group community in Spring, Texas
- Dena Lofton, director of health & wellness, Lake Howard Heights, a Senior Lifestyle Corp. community in Winter Haven, Fla.
- Stephanie Pollard, cottage care coordinator, Spring Arbor of Kinston, an HHHunt community in Kinston, N.C.
- Regina Rice, wellness nurse, Brookdale Edgewood, a Brookdale community in Edgewood, Ky.
- Stephen Venuti, harbor care director, Plymouth Crossings, a Benchmark Senior Living community in Plymouth, Mass.
“The 2017 Argentum Heroes showcase the caring and committed service provided every day by professionals in senior living communities,” Balda said. “Because of the excellent support and caring spirit exhibited by individuals like Patricia, Tonia, Dena, Stephanie, Regina, and Stephen, more seniors are able to experience life to the fullest.”
