Argentum Launches Senior Living Works Initiative at Annual Conference

[current_event_date]

(Alexandria, Va.)—Today at the 2018 Argentum Senior Living Executive Conference in San Diego, Calif., Argentum introduced a new initiative aimed at solving the recruitment and retention challenges facing the industry. The initiative, Senior Living Works, provides a path for senior living leaders to grow the pipeline of workers and connect to educators nationwide, with a goal of filling the 1.2 million job openings projected in the industry by 2025.

“As an industry, we need to continue to build on the awareness that senior living offers rewarding careers,” said James Balda, Argentum president & CEO. “Senior Living Works provides the resources and tools needed to help industry leaders achieve that collective goal.”

Senior Living Works includes an informational website with a workforce engagement toolkit, career-focused videos, relevant news and articles, and other tools for senior living professionals to use and share with their teams across the industry. Resources such as fact sheets, presentations, and one-pagers are available for industry leaders, called Senior Living Ambassadors, who will participate in community outreach at educational institutions, volunteer organizations, and career fairs.

“Senior Living Works promises to be a great tool for operators seeking to recruit new talent or bring best in class training to existing team members,” said Bill Pettit, R.D. Merrill Company president & COO and chair of Argentum’s workforce development committee. “The timing could not be better.”

Over the next several months, Senior Living Works will continue to evolve, providing expanded information on educational programs, professional development opportunities, and career postings for current employees and future job seekers in the industry. Argentum encourages senior living leaders to visit seniorliving.works today and commit to becoming a Senior Living Works Ambassador.
