(ALEXANDRIA, Va.) – Senior living trade association Argentum said it has expanded the role of human resources’ (HR) head Olivia Wilson to include leading the group’s DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) efforts, promoting Wilson at a time the senior living sector is moving forward with building a strong DEIB culture.
Wilson will now be Argentum’s Senior Director of DEIB.
Argentum President and Chief Executive Officer James Balda said in her seven years with the organization, Wilson has successfully managed all HR functions while being a catalyst for enhancing and building a strong culture among the Argentum team.
“She has also been a champion of DEIB efforts for our staff and the senior living industry. She successfully launched our JEDI [Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion] program and was an integral part of developing the Senior Living DEIB Coalition with our association partners,” he said.
Wilson most recently completed the Diversity and Inclusion for HR Certificate program from Cornell ILR School, which provides a foundation to identify, develop, and support HR initiatives for diversity and inclusion.
In her expanded role, she will be leading Argentum’s efforts with the DEIB Coalition while ensuring Argentum has a diversity and inclusion strategy across the group’s programs and services.
Wilson has more than 15 years of HR management experience in higher education, healthcare, and the non-profit sectors. In 2020, her desire to impact social justice and cultural change led to the creation of the JEDI program at Argentum. Wilson was a co-developer of the Senior Living DEIB Coalition and through these joint efforts, Argentum launched the first DEIB Toolkit for Operators in 2022, which provided resources and best practices for DEIB.
She is a mother of five children, and Wilson and her husband enjoy running a youth AAU basketball club, which focuses on sports and education for boys in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia region.
