Argentum Supports Efforts to Fill Vacancies on Labor Board

[current_event_date]

Argentum has announced its support of a request by Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) and Congressman Tim Walberg (R-MI) that President Trump fill vacancies on the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) as soon as possible. Congresswoman Foxx serves as the Chairwoman of the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce and Congressman Walberg serves as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions.

“Argentum is grateful for Chairman Foxx and Chairman Walberg’s leadership and joins them in strongly urging President Trump to nominate two qualified individuals to the NLRB as soon as possible so that the Board is able to address decisions made by the prior Board over the last eight years that have unfortunately done great harm to employees and employers,” said James Balda, Argentum president & chief executive officer.

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) was created to help enforce the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and serve as an unbiased judge over labor disputes. Argentum along with other organizations representing businesses have been disturbed by the prior Board’s actions including expedited union elections and micro-unions which have favored unions at the expense of employers and employees.
