Argentum’s ‘Don’t Leave Us Behind…Again’ Advocacy Campaign for Senior Living Garners National Recognition

[current_event_date]

(Alexandria, Va.) – Argentum’s “Don’t Leave Us Behind…Again” multi-pronged advocacy campaign has received national recognition from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) with the group naming Argentum a 2022 Gold Circle Advocacy Campaign Merit Award winner.

Nearly 200 submissions were considered for the Gold Circle Awards, which recognize outstanding marketing, membership, and communications campaigns in the association community.

“Argentum-member communities and our staff deserve this award for all of their work in promoting senior living’s message to Congress and the Administration. We are thrilled to receive this recognition, which marks a prolonged and ongoing campaign to bring equitable COVID relief, support, and workforce programming to the country’s senior living providers,” said James Balda, president and chief executive officer, Argentum.

The “Don’t Leave Us Behind…Again” campaign commenced last fall to urge the Biden Administration and Congress to release additional COVID-19 relief funding for assisted living providers. The campaign included strategically placed billboards, banners, and other signage in locations across the country. Additional measures included geotargeted ads directed at policymakers, letters from industry leaders, op-eds in local and national media outlets, and grassroots messages from senior living residents and family members, caregivers, and other stakeholders.

The campaign followed two previous campaigns, “Save the PRF” and “Release the PRF,” which successfully blocked Congress from repurposing Provider Relief Funds (PRF) to pay for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, and later to the release $17 billion as part of Phase 4 of the PRF.

Argentum’s efforts were recognized with national press coverage and prompted Argentum’s James Balda to be named by The Hill newspaper as one of Washington DC’s top lobbyists of 2021.
