Argentum’s Women in Leadership Group Welcomes Congressional Support at Public Policy Institute

[current_event_date]

(ALEXANDRIA, Va.) – Argentum, the voice for America’s professionally managed senior living communities, welcomed Congressional lawmakers to the Women in Leadership (WIL) reception at the association’s annual Public Policy Institute (PPI) and fly-in on March 6 as part of the group’s expanding advocacy presence in Washington.

WIL, which brings women leaders in the senior living profession together to expand professional opportunities to the highest levels of the C-Suite, has captured the imagination of the industry as it presents year-long messaging via Zoom calls, webinars, in-person educational events, and advocacy efforts such as the Argentum PPI 2023.

During the reception, Senator Cynthia Lummis (Wyo.), and Reps. Kat Cammack (Fla.), Diana Harshbarger (Tenn.), Virginia Foxx (N.C.), and Michelle Fischbach (Minn.) met with WIL members and other senior living leaders.

“This is a very crucial time for senior living and having these lawmakers, and all of the Congressional appearances throughout PPI, is indicative of the power of in-person advocacy,” said Collette Gray, President and CEO of Integral Senior Living and Solstice Senior Living.

“The Argentum Women in Leadership Group is an inspiring demonstration of female power within the senior living industry. By telling our unique stories and challenges to lawmakers, we are making sure that legislators understand the critical need for solutions to address a wide variety of issues affecting elderly care nationwide – it’s so much more than what’s seen on the surface.”

Gray added: “Together, with the other participants of the Argentum Women in Leadership group and attendees at PPI, our collective voice is stronger, and we can effectively illustrate how deeply intertwined the senior living industry truly is with positive outcomes for our seniors.”

In addition to the reception at PPI, the Argentum Women in Leadership program is very active and has developed meaningful programs and networking opportunities to advance women in the field.

Recent WIL webinars have featured Cindy Baier, President & CEO, Brookdale; Mercedes Kerr, President, Belmont Village Senior Living; and Esmerelda Lee, Chief Operating Officer/Executive Vice President, Century Park Associates.
