Hero Awards

Our newly rebranded awards program, sponsored by Benchmark, is designed to recognize and celebrate outstanding individuals who exemplify the spirit of service, innovation, and leadership within the senior living industry. This year, we have introduced a dynamic categorization of awards, each representing core values that drive our industry forward, with the goal of amplifying recognition for those whose work significantly impacts residents, staff, and local communities.

Choose an Award Category

  • Community Leadership Award – Honors an executive director who has demonstrated remarkable leadership in managing and fostering an engaged, supportive senior living environment.
  • Emergency Response Leadership Award – Recognizes an individual who has shown extraordinary resilience and swift decision-making in protecting and supporting seniors during crises.
  • Heart of Service Award – Celebrates a devoted team member whose long-term dedication and compassion have positively influenced residents, coworkers, and the community at large.
  • Passion & Purpose Award – Highlights an employee whose innovative work, whether through a new service, program, or community connection, has made a lasting impact on resident experience and local engagement.

Prepare Your Nomination

  • Be Specific and Use Real Examples: Share concrete stories, examples, and specific actions that demonstrate the nominee’s achievements. Avoid vague statements like “They are a great leader” — instead, describe a specific instance where their leadership made a measurable impact.
  • Highlight Impact and Results: Focus on the impact the nominee has had on residents, staff, or the community. Did they create a new program, solve a critical problem, or inspire others? Share measurable outcomes or personal testimonials if possible.
  • Showcase Unique Qualities and Distinguishing Traits: What makes this person stand out from others in similar roles? Emphasize the nominee’s unique characteristics, such as compassion, creativity, leadership, or resilience.
  • Address the Award Criteria: Tailor the nomination to the specific award category. For example, if nominating for the Emergency Response Leadership Award, focus on crisis response, decision-making, and calm under pressure.
  • Use Testimonials (Optional): You may gather up to three (3) testimonials of up to 200 words from residents, families, or staff that speaks to the nominee’s impact.

Through this revitalized awards program, we are thrilled to spotlight the passion, resilience, and innovation that define our community, celebrating those who go above and beyond to make a lasting difference. Hero Award winners can expect the following accolades:

  • Professional Video Feature: Sponsored by OneDay A sizzle reel will showcase each winner’s story, impact, and achievements, highlighting their contributions to senior living.
  • Press Release: Winners will be featured in an official press release, celebrating their accomplishments and increasing visibility.
  • Web & Social Media Badge: Awardees receive a digital badge to display on social media and websites, symbolizing their achievement.
  • Featured Article: Winners will be profiled in Senior Living Executive magazine, detailing their journey, impact, and contributions.
  • Award Presentation & Ceremony: Honorees will be recognized at a ceremony, receiving their award in front of peers and supporters.
  • Travel Expenses: Winners, their nominator, and one guest receive complimentary conference registration, airfare reimbursement, and a hotel stay.

Best of the Best Awards

The Argentum Best of the Best Awards recognize innovative new programs and services that are working to improve the future of senior living. Awards and recognition will focus on innovative programs, products, and services that solve a particular challenge or advance excellence in senior living. Winners are recognized annually at the Argentum Senior Living Executive Conference and in an issue of Senior Living Executive magazine. Nominations are open to all Argentum Member companies. 

Prepare your nomination

  • Confirm Your Eligibility: Your nomination must include an owner/operator of a senior living community that is a member of Argentum.
  • Describe the Initiative: Clearly explain the program, product, or service being nominated.
  • Highlight the Impact: Show how it addresses a specific challenge or advances excellence in senior living.
  • Provide Evidence of Success: Share measurable results, key performance indicators, or qualitative feedback, such as testimonials and community recognition.
  • Share Lessons Learned: Highlight key takeaways or insights that could guide future efforts in senior living.
