Benchmark Named ‘Top Place to Work’ by the Boston Globe for 13th Straight Year

WALTHAM, Mass.—Benchmark Senior Living, a leading provider of senior living services in the Northeast, announced that it has been named one of the Top Places to Work for the 13th straight year in The Boston Globe’s 13th annual employee-based survey. It is one of only two companies to have made the list every year it has been published and is the only senior living provider on the list.

“At Benchmark, we believe the best experiences are given by those who feel fulfilled,” said Tom Grape, founder, chairman and CEO of Benchmark. “So, supporting our associates’ physical and emotional wellness with opportunities to be heard and ample recognitions is central to our culture of caring. It’s important to us that our associates love their work, and we are excited to see that continually demonstrated in the Globe survey over the past 13 years and others. We are extremely honored to be one of only two companies ever to have been on the list for all 13 years the award has been presented.”

Top Places to Work recognizes the most admired workplaces in Massachusetts as voted by the people who know them best, their employees. The survey measures anonymous employee opinions about their company’s direction, execution, connection, management, work, pay and benefits, and engagement.

Benchmark appears on the list with some of New England’s most prominent companies, including Comcast, Dell, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, and Tufts Health Plan.

Benchmark has been named to FORTUNE magazine’s Best Workplaces for Aging Services list each of the three years the magazine held the ranking. The company has also been certified as a Great Place to Work by Great Place to Work Institute. Throughout its 23-year history, the company has earned a reputation as a top workplace as recognized by the Boston Business Journal, Connecticut Post, Hartford Courant and Hartford Business Journal, and as one of the healthiest employers by Boston Business Journal and Providence Business News.

“This was a particularly challenging year to be a great place to work, and the companies that made our list went above and beyond to keep their employees safe, engaged and cared for,” said Katie Johnston, the Globe’s Top Places to Work editor. “From offering help with childcare to making the workplace more equitable to holding virtual talent shows, these employers showed that the best get better in crisis.”

In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, Benchmark offers a wide variety of educational programs, associate incentives, recognition programs and formalized listening programs designed to sustain its award-winning culture.
