LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Knoxville, Tenn.-based senior living provider Dominion Senior Living has brought on a long-tenured senior living figure to their Louisville campus leadership board. Shauna Darbyshire, formerly of Blake Management Group, joins the company as campus director in Louisville.
Darbyshire will supervise Dominion of Louisville and Everlan of Louisville, a campus of senior living services that provide every level of care from independent living for 55+ (Everlan) to assisted living, memory care, and personal care (Dominion), totaling 117 residences.
As campus director, Darbyshire will direct Dominion and Everlan of Louisville’s strategic growth initiatives, daily operations and the development and strengthening of community relationships. Beginning in senior living more than 13 years ago, she has held several positions in the senior living sector, including director of wellness, sales specialist, executive director and most recently, as a regional director of operations. She comes from Oaklawn at Symphony and, most recently, Blake Management Group. Darbyshire says she is eager to bring that experience to further Dominion’s initiatives and is excited to return to a community leadership role where she has the opportunity to engage with residents on a daily basis.
“My passion for seniors began when I was a child and spent summers with my grandparents,” said Darbyshire. “My grandmother would let me tag along to every book club, card club, American Legion and Women’s Auxiliary meeting. Every social and volunteer event my grandmother was involved in, there I was right next to her. Looking back, I realize how instrumental those summers were in shaping my life story. Today, my true passion is making a difference in the lives of seniors and their families.”
Darbyshire joined the Army at age 17. After serving five years, she pursued her nursing degree and began her career in senior living, where she found her true calling. She currently holds a master’s degree in executive leadership from Liberty University and feels blessed to join Dominion Senior Living and bring her passion for caring for seniors to the Dominion family.
