The Senior Living Executive Conference’s Expo Hall Completes the Trifecta of Advanced Education, Dynamic Networking, and Transformative Solutions—All in One Place

According to LongTermCare.gov, someone turning 65 today has a nearly 70% chance of needing some type of long-term care services and support in their remaining years. Moreover, 20% of today’s 65-year-olds will need long-term care for more than 5 years. Statistics like this shine a light on the rapidly growing significance of senior care in our society, both right now and down the line.

Recognizing that current and emerging challenges persist in such a rapidly evolving industry, the upcoming Senior Living Executive Conference—the official meeting of Argentum—brings together thousands of senior living professionals, operators, owners, executives, and community leaders from around the country for 3 days of education, networking, and innovation.  Reflecting the realities of today’s industry, the conference equips senior care professionals with the knowledge and tools they need to address the challenges of today and prepare tomorrow, as related to the resident experience, staffing, operational efficiencies, and much more.

With excitement around the upcoming in-person event building, we spoke with Brad Williams, Ed.D., Senior Vice President of Business Operations for Argentum—the leading national association supporting companies operating professionally managed, resident-centered senior living communities—about what to expect, April 29-May 1, 2024, at the conference in Phoenix, Arizona.  “We want Senior Living Executive Conference 2024 to serve as the leading space for senior living knowledge transfer—where learning and networking not only come together, but come to life,” he stated.  “Conference attendees benefit greatly from the unique combination of a top educational program coupled with the actionable solutions found in the Expo Hall, along with the sharing of experiences and knowledge.” Brad explained that it’s not uncommon for an attendee to learn about something in a session, walk 500 feet to discover a related solution for it in the Expo Hall, and then discuss it over a cocktail with an old colleague or a new contact.

Brad continued, “No one can deny the fact that all senior living professionals today need to know how to do more with less, how to run a more efficient community, and how to provide an even better senior resident experience. More than ever before, there is a need to come together to share challenges, successes, ideas, and even tales of caution to ensure that individual businesses—as well as the collective industry—are always moving forward.”

Finding Innovative Solutions to Current Challenges.

Conference attendees entering the Expo Hall will find themselves stepping into a world of innovation, connection, and possibilities.  As the heartbeat of the conference, the Expo Hall pulses with energy—offering a dynamic showcase of the latest advancements, solutions, and services shaping and driving the future of senior living. From cutting-edge technology to innovative design concepts, each exhibitor presents a gateway to transformative ideas and opportunities. It’s here in the Expo Hall that industry leaders converge to exchange insights, forge partnerships, and discover the tools needed to better navigate the evolving landscape of senior care.

Exhibitors in Action

We recently caught up with two exhibitors excited about being part of the upcoming event: Bill Carey, Sales & Marketing Leader for ALIS by Medtelligent, and Olya Iakomi, Regional Marketing for Yardi Systems, Inc.

Streamlining Data and Making It Work for You

Showcasing ALIS by Medtelligent—a fully integrated software platform for Senior Living communities that offers CRM, eHR, eMAR, A/R, Care-Tracking, Family Portal and BI Reporting—Bill Carey is excited to meet new operators, re-ignite conversations with those he’s met at past conferences, and connect with his current customers in person. He looks forward to helping front-line users streamline their data and information through Medtelligent’s natively integrated platform—centralizing all data and workflows in one place.

We asked Bill what visitors to his booth might expect. He explained, “Operators will be able to see ALIS in action, click around the system, and see the difference of a truly all-in-one platform. They can ask us any question, discuss our different packages, and meet members of the teams they would work with closely as clients.”

We also asked Bill about what important trends he felt all senior living professionals needed to be aware of.  “Data is a big talking point in the industry today,” he began. “What operators are DOING with that data is where their attention should be. It’s no secret that AI is the next wave of technology across the landscape. Our data science team saw this trend coming and have been working for over 5+ years on developing truthful, reliable, and impactful AI technology that will give true purpose to the data that is being collected. We’re excited to discuss and show more of what we’re doing in this space and show how our customers are getting insights that were never before possible.”

Closing the Gap Between Property Management and Clinical Services

A faithful Senior Living Executive Conference exhibitor for years, Olya Iakomi, of Yardi Systems, Inc., is once again thrilled to be a part of the 2024 Expo Hall. Olya will be presenting the Yardi Senior Living Suite, a fully integrated solution designed for the unique needs of senior living operators that eliminates the gap between senior living property management and clinical services by combining resident care, marketing, sales, finance, business intelligence, operations, pharmacy, and more—all on one cloud-hosted, HIPAA- and SOX-compliant software platform.

We asked Olya what attendees might learn when they pay a visit to her booth.  “We’ll explain how we can help senior living organizations unify their operations, grow their occupancy, and deliver quality care—all from one intuitive platform,” she explained. “Our single connected solution offers a way to eliminate siloed databases and in turn, lower total cost of ownership and prevent errors. Our technology frees up senior living operators to focus on taking care of their residents.”

Olya went on to discuss how Yardi is continuously evolving their solutions and collecting client feedback to guide their development of new features, enhancements, and more: “Stopping by our booth offers the chance to meet with our knowledgeable senior living team members who are more than happy to share positively impactful information on the Yardi Senior Living Suite.  They’ll be available to demonstrate our solutions—taking into account the unique needs of each individual business.  We want attendees to know that Yardi cares about providing solutions built to support the aging population.”

We went on to ask Olya about industry trends she’s seeing as most impactful. “Industry trends include artificial intelligence, staffing challenges, serving the middle-class market, and the importance of using good data to drive decisions,” she offered. “Our software takes these trends into account. We focus on evolving our products to help clients succeed through the current state of the industry and beyond.”

In addition to visiting Olya’s booth, attendees can also join her as she hosts a session entitled, Let’s Focus on Solutions: Responding to What Keeps You Up at Night.  In this quick-hits, engaging session, representatives of leading senior living solution providers will share the top issues keeping their customers up at night—and how they’re helping them to respond.

Exhibitors and Operators: In This Together

Over the years, it’s become clear that suppliers are just as locked in as operators in their desire to improve the resident experience, support caregiving, create operational efficiencies, cut costs, and create better products.  Argentum’s Brad Williams encourages owners and operators to research the Expo in advance, search some product categories of interest, and set aside a few hours for the Expo.  They should plan to ask exhibitors their toughest questions and find out what these solution providers can offer their individual business.  According to Brad, “The attendee who takes the time to prepare pre-show is greatly rewarded by the exhibitors they visit and the discoveries they make. Whether you have a current budget or not, an attendee should research what’s in the Expo and always be learning.”

Today’s senior living professionals rarely have direct access to so many supplier solutions in one location…in such a concentrated period of time.  In Brad’s words, “Take advantage of it. It’s YOUR Expo and it’s for YOUR business. Bring your objectives to the Expo Hall and have the important conversations that could lead to new partnerships.”

The BIG 3: Benefits to the Expo Visitor

  1. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE. Suppliers have specialized knowledge and a deep understanding of technologies and business processes that may not always be readily clear. They have data, market insights, and trends across their operating customers—all with a willingness to share.
  2. DISCOVERY. The most exciting aspect of the Expo Hall, the potential discovery of a new product, service, technology, or partnership can literally breathe new life into an age-old challenge.
  3. DUE DILIGENCE. Attendees owe it to themselves, their colleagues, and their businesses to put the time in and vet solutions that have the potential to change the way they do business, generate more revenue, cut costs, or create an easier path.

The Senior Living Executive Conference’s Expo Hall is a big part of the overall learning experience, and with 175 exhibitors lined up for this year’s conference, attendees should come with a willingness to explore, engage, and ignite their imagination as they embark on a journey through the vibrant corridors of the Expo Hall. The possibilities are endless, and the future is theirs to shape. Senior Living professionals are encouraged to be a part of the full conference experience as well as the movement redefining senior living excellence.
