BLOOMFIELD, N.J.—Juniper Communities has announced two new appointments. Theresa Bush, RN, was named regional director of wellness for Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Dawn Anderson, RN, as the director of wellness (DOW) at Juniper Village at Brookline Skilled Rehabilitation and Care.

Bush has spent the majority of her 35 years as a nurse in management positions. “I joined Juniper Communities because of the culture and its philosophy of care for the residents—living your best life. I look forward to lending my strengths in leadership and as a coach in building teams, ensuring residents receive the best of care, and by doing the right thing,” she said.

She moves into her new role with many credentials, including being a licensed RN in three states, a degree in healthcare management, certifications in infection control prevention and COVID vaccine administration, and being a certified dementia practitioner.

“Theresa is a powerful addition to our resources for community excellence team,” said Don Breneman, vice president of risk management and business operations, Juniper Communities. “She will be consulting and lending support to the directors of wellness in the buildings overseeing best practices, quality assurance, and fall reduction programs.”

With a passion for helping others, Theresa is deeply committed to volunteerism. She is a member of the Low Life Rider Organization, a group of motorcycle enthusiasts who raise money for families of children with who are terminally ill. To date, they have raised nearly $1 million.

Dawn Anderson had been in charge of Juniper’s quality assurance program and restorative care. In her new role, she will oversee the entire nursing department at Brookline Skilled Rehabilitation and Care in State College, Pa. A nurse for 31 years, Dawn has worked in numerous health care settings such as hospice, home health, long term care, and hospitals.

“It’s an honor to work for Juniper. I was drawn to the company in part because of the outstanding leadership. In my new role as DOW I look forward to continuing the tradition that has been an example of the amazing leaders before me,” she said.

Kathryn Bainbridge, NHA, added, “I am thrilled to have Dawn serving in this new role. Dawn’s strong and innate nursing foundation will serve the residents, their families, and our community well. It is truly my pleasure to have her on the Juniper team.”
