ALFA 2013 Conference & Expo Session: Long Term Care Financing in a Post CLASS America
Presented: Thursday, May 9 | 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM
The Community Living Assistance Services and Supports (CLASS) Act to establish the first national, government run long term care insurance program was included in the Affordable Care Act that President Obama signed into law in 2010. CLASS was quickly abandoned and eventually repealed by Congress in the 2013 New Year’s Day budget agreement before it was implemented.
Now more than ever, access and affordability of long term care services and supports are among the most pressing issues facing our country. Congress, consumers, and advocacy groups all agree this is a problem but have not agreed on a solution. This interactive session will feature two of the most respected experts on the topic who will explain their recommendations for solving the problem.
