Love Conquers All: Dementia Doesn’t Diminish Love for Three Murrieta Couples

[current_event_date]

Left: Vineyard Place resident Donald McCullough renewed his vows with wife Jean after 61 years together through sickness and in health. Right: Rosalinda and Johnson Espino, resident, reaffirmed their commitment to love and honor each other.

Stephanie Bosh, resident, and husband  Sean were joined by daughter Miko for their vow renewal.

When Donald, 85, and Donna McCollough, 81, recited their wedding vows 61 years ago, they promised to love each other through sickness and in health. Donald, now living with dementia, and Donna joined two other couples to reaffirm their commitment to love and honor their spouses at a vow renewal at Vineyard Place, an Anthem Memory Care community at 24325 Washington Ave., Murrieta.

“Dementia doesn’t diminish their love. The ceremony brought back good memories for them and reminded them how special it is to be with someone they love despite the challenges,” said Christopher Balmes, life engagement director for Vineyard Place. “We are honored to be a part of this joyful occasion for these couples.”
