Massachusetts Assisted Living Association (Mass-ALA) Welcomes New Board Members Charles James and Tadd Clelland

January 19, 2024 – The Massachusetts Assisted Living Association (Mass-ALA) Board of Directors welcomes two new members – Tadd Clelland, President and CEO of Senior Living Residences (SLR), and Charles James, Executive Director at Artisan at Hudson – SageLife Senior Living. Mass-ALA represents 231 certified assisted living communities across the Commonwealth as the voice of assisted living in Massachusetts, providing information and education, and advocating on behalf of our members and the older adults they serve.

Tadd Clelland, President and CEO of Senior Living Residences, has over 20 years of senior management experience in the industry. Clelland oversees the day-to-day operations of SLR and their managed communities across New England and works with investment partners and nonprofit clients on development, acquisitions and any necessary corrective operations. He was also instrumental in developing SLR’s “Compass Memory Support” program, which is renowned for its innovative focus on treating the symptoms and potentially slowing the progression of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia. Clelland is personally invested in fostering a positive workplace and culture for SLR’s associates, 1200 of whom work in Massachusetts, prioritizing progressive training and development opportunities, open communication and retention.

Charles James, Executive Director of Artisan at Hudson – SageLife Senior Living, brings more than two decades of experience to the field specializing in the care continuum and proven results in leading clinical and operation teams. James is team-oriented and as a leader strives to cultivate an inclusive environment centering wellness, engagement, and growth in all aspects of Artisan at Hudson.
