Medicare recipients will save $3,500 under the Affordable Care Act over the next 10 years. Savings could be as much as $12,300 for seniors and others with high prescription drug costs or costly medical conditions.
The lower costs are attributed to decreased prescription drug costs, reduced waste, fraud, and abuse, and improvements to care quality and increased systemic efficiency.
The Affordable Care Act, which was recently signed into law, seeks to make healthcare more accessible to the general American population as well as reform how insurance companies operate.
