PASADENA, California (March 18, 2023) – MorningStar Senior Living celebrates the grand reopening of its 144-unit Pasadena community at 951 South Fair Oaks Avenue. Soon after assuming management in December 2020, MorningStar, a Denver-based senior living owner and operator, began a complete renovation of the four-story community.

This redesign reflects our substantial experience in taking senior living innovation to the next level while continuing to meet the pressing need for memory care.”
The design approach by Aneka Interiors was that of a warm and welcoming environment full of rich texture. Inspired by the landscape of Pasadena Valley, Aneka employed an updated palette of warm neutrals with pops of greens and blues that nod to the breezy California lifestyle. To revitalize while staying true to its heritage, the senior community now features warm wood tones, natural stone countertops and black metal finishes to mimic the intricate ironwork found in the surrounding neighborhoods.
Throughout the renovation, MorningStar focused on elevating resident living by creating activities and destinations on each level. On the first floor is a Bistro adorned with decorative tile reminiscent of the Spanish/Colonial hand-painted tiles known in the area. This “fast casual” dining venue is the perfect place to enjoy breakfast, an aperitif or companionship.
The second floor now features secure Memory Care to support those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Characterized by soothing blues and joyful greens, this new lifestyle neighborhood has multiple living and activity rooms for optimal resident engagement with a private terrace.
Being near to the Pasadena Playhouse and famous Hollywood Hills, MorningStar of Pasadena offers its own variety of entertainment in a reimagined Theatre. Here you’ll find vintage Hollywood posters and high-end furnishings sure to make this one of the most popular destinations in the community.
Outside the Theatre is the Art and Garden Room in deep terra cotta, giving residents space to showcase their creativity while enjoying the outdoor deck. Other designated spaces include salon, club room with terrace, music room, multiple libraries, luxurious lobby, enlarged dining room with private dining room, and fitness/therapy center. From its Sky Terraces are views of South Pasadena and the San Gabriel Mountains.
