Starting August 1st, 2010, a new 24-hour, toll-free Personal Care Home Complaint Hotline will be available through the Department of Public Welfare at 1-877-401-8835.
This new hotline replaces the previous number from the Department of Health (1-800-254-5164), which will no longer accept Personal Care Home complaints after August 1st, 2010.
As explained in this letter from DPW, Personal Care Home providers ARE REQUIRED to replace the DOH number with the new PCH Hotline number on their resident rights poster, in their emergency number postings, and in their reportable incident procedures.
THESE CHANGES MUST BE MADE BY AUGUST 1, 2010.
