PHOENIX (March 10, 2025) – Sagewood, a life plan community in North Phoenix, is celebrating 15-years of providing senior living care in the Valley and announcing plans for the future of community.
Sagewood originally opened in 2010 with 126 residents. Now in 2025, the 85-acre campus has 417 independent living units and is home to more than 600 residents in all levels of care. In the last fifteen years, Sagewood added assisted living and memory care, five different onsite dining options, a large event space, and a state-of-the-art putting course. Sagewood has spent its time in the Valley creating an enriching, social environment for residents including dozens of resident-led interest groups, access to the arts, life-long learning opportunities, and an expansive fitness/wellness program. 
In honor of the 15-year anniversary, Sagewood residents and staff hosted a celebration on February 27th to not only commemorate the growth over the last fifteen years but talk about the future of Sagewood especially as Arizona’s population ages and looks for retirement options.
Sagewood is fortunate to have room to grow the community to accommodate those on the waitlist and new Arizonans looking for retirement options. The upcoming expansion has the potential to add another casita/villa neighborhood and an apartment building. Sagewood offers multiple floorplan options and home styles to fit the needs of all residents.
Sagewood is actively conducting focus groups and surveys with current and future residents to determine what features would be most desired in the expansion project.
Sagewood is currently accepting applications for their waitlist program. Joining the waitlist not only secures a place in line for a home, but unlike many senior living communities, Sagewood invites prospective residents to use select community amenities and activities while they wait for their homes. It is a great way for future residents to learn about the community and start connecting with their soon-to-be neighbors.
In addition to the expansion, Sagewood is also working on updates and renovations to existing resident homes and several of Sagewood’s restaurants, and the onsite spa/salon received recent renovations.
