PHOENIX, ARIZ. (October 10, 2023) –Sagewood, a Life Plan community in North Phoenix, recently hired two new leaders on their team to fill the positions of director of plant operations and director of human resources.
Sandi Grove, Sagewood’s new director of plant operations, has more than 20 years of experience in maintenance and engineering. Grove spent the last four years managing operations at various senior living communities and luxury resorts. Prior to that he served in the United States Navy, first as a heavy construction engineer, then as a special warfare fast boat team member.
In his new role, Grove will manage the maintenance and engineering team, oversee the day-to-day operations of the community, ensure the community has the highest standard of cleanliness, and be responsible for the internal mechanical, electrical, landscaping and plumbing maintenance.
Grove holds a degree in emergency management from Grand Canyon University. He is looking forward to his new role and revamping aspects of the community including upgrades to the flooring, lighting, and paint. He is also excited to improve efficiencies and responsiveness of the maintenance team, while planning and performing upgrades to infrastructure items. His goal is to improve the efficiency of all Sagewood mechanical and electrical systems.
Desiree Cogley, the new director of human resources at Sagewood, has 23 years of experience in human resources and healthcare. While she is also new to senior living, Cogley grew her career serving in human resource roles for a community health center in Phoenix.
As director of human resources, Cogley will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to recruit and retain qualified, hospitality-driven staff to provide services to the residents of Sagewood. Cogley will ensure the staff has proper training, benefits, compensation and fulfilling careers with opportunity for growth.
Cogley earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southern Illinois University and went on to earn her master’s degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix. She also has various certifications including HRCI Senior Professional in HR, SHRM Senior Certified Professional, MTI Certified Workplace Mediator, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean Six Sigma Champion.
