[current_event_date]

Bob Moran helped shape BSL, touched many lives

Moran Jr., Robert “Bob” Sr VP Operations Operations – HO

The Benchmark family lost a dear friend and instrumental leader over the holidays. Bob Moran, the company’s former Senior Vice President of Operations, passed away on Dec. 21, following a courageous battle with cancer.

“I cannot overstate the impact Bob had on Benchmark – our residents, families and associates. Only a handful of people had such an impact on our history,” Benchmark CEO and Founder Tom Grape explains.

“Benchmark would not be Benchmark without him and his legacy will loom large for years to come.”

Bob started at Benchmark as the Executive Director of Cabot Park Village in 2001 and went on to become Regional Director of Operations, Divisional Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Human Resources, Vice President of Operations and Senior Vice President of Operations.

Dozens of current and former Benchmark leaders and associates credit Bob’s mentoring, patience and friendship for their professional and personal growth. He was a consummate problem-solver, eager to assist colleagues and team members on the many day-to-day challenges of running a community.

Bob also played a critical role in the industry as an active member of industry groups like Argentum and the Massachusetts Assisted Living Association.

He was also a champion of Benchmark’s One Company Fund, the 501 (c) 3 nonprofit that provides emergency cash assistance to associates and their families during times of hardship.

Bob, 54, was a proud father and relished his role as Dad to his sons, Matthew and Justin. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Melissa.

Throughout Benchmark and the greater community, Bob touched many lives and is beloved by so many. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
