Tara Clayton was named as a Managing Director with Marsh McLennan this week. Tara has been a transformational presence on the team and beyond since she joined the team in May of 2019. As Martin South noted in his announcement, “The selection process for Managing Director is incredibly rigorous, and achieving this key milestone reflects these colleagues’ tremendous dedication,
contributions, and leadership mindset”. We are thrilled for Tara and appreciate all her contributions to the team.
As you know, Tara is an attorney by background. She was a highly regarded litigator defending senior living providers as an attorney in private practice, before she went in house overseeing litigation, including GLPL claims for two large national providers. Tara has a background not only in defending clients, but she also served in a legal operations role for those companies giving her unique insights into to operational challenges our clients face, and also gives her the background and experience necessary to provide expert guidance, develop risk management programs, litigation oversight strategies, and provide the strategic guidance our clients need to navigate a challenging litigation and risk environment.
Tara has also been a key partner to our industry association stakeholders. During COVID, Tara provided key advice and helped drive advocacy for protections for our clients on a state-by-state basis. She has become the “go to” expert on all thinks risk, litigation and advocacy to Argentum and ASHA and has developed an industry wide reputation as a key thought leader in our space. In addition, Tara has been quickly become a “must participate” member of our new business pursuit teams, and she has quickly established herself as the key conduit to the rest of the Marsh salesforce throughout the country who have senior living prospects.
Tara’s role has evolved and grown since she has been part of the leadership team and now leads our consulting team including our claims, clinical and safety functions, as well as all her other great work for the team.
