CARY, N.C.—Waltonwood Ashburn, a luxury, family-owned senior living community, has named Tracy Philemon as its new independent living manager. Philemon has a decade of experience in the industry and roots within the local community. She began in the industry in 2010 as business development manager responsible for the operations of eight communities. Since then, she has served in a variety of management positions that have enabled her to foster a deep understanding for the connections needed to best serve seniors and their loved ones. As the independent living manager, Philemon will act as the customer service champion for independent living residents and is the initial contact for any resident needs.

While Philemon’s primary duties include resident relations and communication, the role will see her act as the very backbone of the community, ensuring day-to-day operations are running smoothly and that residents are happy and safe in their homes. She will work closely with all departments in the community, advocate on behalf of the residents, and solve problems that arise. According to Philemon, her philosophy can be attributed to a quote from Maya Angelou: “I have learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will not forget how you made the feel.” This mindset is one that she has posted in her office and that she carries with her each day as she interacts with residents and her fellow associates.
