Watermark Retirement Communities Now Managing The Watermark at Bellevue, Previously The Holden of Bellevue

[current_event_date]

Bellevue, WA (July 13, 2023) – Watermark Retirement Communities, one of the nation’s largest and most respected senior housing operators, is now managing The Watermark at Bellevue, bringing its award-winning programs to the community’s memory care and assisted living accommodations.  Previously The Holden at Bellevue, the community features 136 stylish suites, chef-prepared cuisine and a location in the heart of downtown Bellevue, close to world-class shopping, restaurants, art galleries and medical care. Watermark Retirement Communities will introduce its signature programming to the community, as well as a lifestyle built on choice, fine amenities and integrative wellbeing.

Concurrent with this shift in management, construction is being done on a new independent living building adjacent to The Watermark at Bellevue, which will bring 155 Independent Living apartments as well as a slate of engaging activities to the campus in 2024.

“We’re thrilled to now manage The Watermark at Bellevue and bring personalized care to this stunning community and its residents,” said David Freshwater, Chairman of Watermark Retirement Communities. “Together with the new independent living building, Bellevue-area seniors will have tremendous opportunities for discovery and renewal as they age.”

The Watermark at Bellevue spans over 132,000 square feet with 110 assisted living apartments and 26 memory care apartments, the latter encircling a central courtyard. It boasts designer finishes throughout and amenities that promote lifelong learning and mind/body/spirit wellbeing, including an activity and craft room, a fitness center with a yoga studio, a salon and barber shop, and beautiful pet-friendly outdoor spaces. Residents can also enjoy delicious, healthful meals at elegant on-site restaurants, prepared by the community’s Executive Chef Christopher Frantela.

“Watermark Retirement Communities is renowned for its philosophy and the experience it offers seniors,” said Howard Jacobs, Managing Director of The Watermark at Bellevue. “We’re confident that Watermark will enrich our residents’ lives with meaningful activity and ensure they are cared for holistically in all stages of life.”

Watermark is also adding signature programs to the community, including its award-winning Watermark University program that encourages residents and associates to lead classes for their peers in their areas of expertise.  Watermark is also bringing in Gourmet Bites Cuisine, a culinary program that transforms meals into bite-sized finger foods that are both easy to consume and visually appealing, thus restoring dignity in dining. Residents will also be transported to exotic locales through Watermark’s virtual reality program, EngageVR®, and get to explore sights a bit closer to home through Watermark’s Extraordinary Outings program.

All residents receive 24/7 support from associates, including housekeeping, transportation and laundry services, as well as on-site wellness services and preventative health screenings and education. For Memory Care residents in particular, compassionate, experienced caregivers, called Nayas, guide residents through their day in a comfortable, residential environment. The Memory Care program at The Watermark at Bellevue focuses on engagement, dignity and wellbeing so that residents can lead an enriching, rewarding life.

Potential residents and their families interested in joining the community can contact the leasing office at 520-797-4000. To learn more about the property, please visit The Watermark at Bellevue.
